2012 Miss Rodeo America


Just a quick note of congratulations to Mackenzie Carr of Vernonia, Oregon who now reigns as Miss Rodeo America 2012. Mackenzie was awarded the coveted crown on December 10, 2011 after the week-long annual extravaganza held in Las Vegas.

In addition to traveling more than 100,000 miles during her reign representing Miss Rodeo America, Inc. and the Professional Rodeo Cowboy’s Association, MacKenzie will wear the timeless Landstroms tiara.

Mackenzie was also awarded a wardrobe of Wrangler jeans and shirts, Justin boots, Bailey hats, Caspian Casuals Performance Collection Tops, Silver Mounted Court’s Saddle and an official Miss Rodeo America trophy buckle from Montana Silversmiths.

2011-2012 Miss Rodeo America Pageant wraps up on December 10th

The 2011-2012 Miss Rodeo America Pageant has been in full force since December 3rd, and the lucky lady will be chosen this weekend. Miss Rodeo America Inc. was developed in 1955 to each year select a qualified Miss Rodeo America as an ambassador of good will promoting the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association and American western traditions. The pageant is an opportunity for the young lady selected to set a solid path for their future endeavors. At the same time, it offers all of the contestants the richness of developing lifelong friendships through the experience of this competition.

In addition to the $10,000 Miss Rodeo America scholarship, the winner will also be awarded a number of exquisite prizes, including clothing and matching jewelry as well as the timeless Landstrom’s Black Hills Gold tiara, originally made for Pat Koren, Miss Rodeo America 1965. Landstroms is the original manufacturer of Black Hills Gold, with roots dating back to the late 1800's.

The Miss Rodeo America Pageant is held annually in conjunction with the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo, in Las Vegas, Nevada. State rodeo queens compete for the coveted crown of Miss Rodeo America by competing in the areas of horsemanship, personality, appearance and rodeo knowledge & presentation. The Miss Rodeo America Pageant has been offering young women the opportunity to create solid foundations for their future endeavors, since 1955. Miss Rodeo America has become a part of a great legacy and part of rodeo history.

Miss Rodeo America Celebrates 55th Anniversary

Miss Rodeo America, along with the Pro Rodeo Hall of Fame in Colorado Springs, Colo., is celebrating another milestone in the history of rodeo. Miss Rodeo America an American Tradition, is on exhibit at the Pro Rodeo Hall of Fame as the organization prepares for the pageant where the 55th Miss Rodeo America will be crowned.

The exhibit is open to the public and features a collection of awards, clothing, boots and photos gathered from former Miss Rodeo America titleholders. A collage of photos of Miss Rodeo America 2009, Maegan Ridley, greets visitors as they enter the exhibit. The ambiance of royalty is displayed as guests navigate through, “A Royal Timeline,” spanning the length of one wall.

Landstroms TiaraOn display is a Blue Bell original suit made for and worn by the fist Miss Rodeo America, Marilyn Scott. The original Landstrom’s Black Hills Gold tiara made for Pat Koren, Miss Rodeo America 1965, is on display as well as a custom dress that resembles the tiara made for Amy Wilson, Miss Rodeo America 2008. The collection is a tribute to every young lady that has represented her state as each has dedicated themselves to the promotion and continuation of Professional Rodeo.

“We value our relationship with the PRCA and Pro Rodeo Hall of Fame, it is an honor to be included as part of this premier rodeo organization and to be celebrated through this exhibit,” Raeana Wadhams, Miss Rodeo America Inc., Executive Director said.

Miss Rodeo America Inc., is the organizing body of the Miss Rodeo America Pageant, which is held in conjunction with the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas. The 2010 Miss Rodeo America pageant will be held at The Orleans Hotel & Casino, Nov. 29 – Dec. 5, 2009. Nearly 30 young ladies will be vying for the title of Miss Rodeo America 2010, where they will be judged on horsemanship, personality, appearance, rodeo knowledge and presentation.
